This is because white parents raise a political stink if they are having trouble raising their kids. They need a scapegoat. It's so easy to say, "This substance did it!" Whereas that substance only "did it" with the help of drug prohibition, whereby we never educated young people about drugs, never regulated product, and never allowed for free drug choice thanks to which determined users could select drugs with discrimination -- rather than be limited to the product that profit-seeking dealers are currently stocking -- those dealers that were created out of whole cloth by drug prohibition itself. Young people were not dying in the streets from opiates when opiates were legal in America. It took drug prohibition to accomplish that.
"It is said that the Government must safeguard the health of the community. And the moment that is said, there ceases to be the shadow of a difference between beer and tea. People can certainly spoil their health with tea or with tobacco or with twenty other things. And there is no escape for the hygienic logician except to restrain and regulate them all. If he is to control the health of the community, he must necessarily control all the habits of all the citizens...." --GK Chesterton, from Eugenics and Other Evils 11

Aah! God help me! I just ran across this four-month-old essay of mine and was reminded that DJ Nutt actually supports drug prohibition! He wants to outlaw "extremely dangerous" drugs!
This is the caveman attitude of the Drug Warrior: they want to demonize dangerous substances rather than to learn how to use them as wisely as possible for the benefit of humanity. And so they say things like "Fentanyl kills!" which is the philosophical equivalent of saying "Fire bad!"
The UN of today is in an odd position regarding drugs: they want to praise indigenous societies while yet outlawing the drugs that helped create them.
Scientists are responsible for endless incarcerations in America. Why? Because they fail to denounce the DEA lie that psychoactive substances have no positive medical uses.
The main form of drug war propaganda is censorship. That's why most Americans cannot imagine any positive uses for psychoactive substances, because the media and the government won't allow that.
The "acceptable risk" for psychoactive drugs can only be decided by the user, based on what they prioritize in life. Science just assumes that all users should want to live forever, self-fulfilled or not.
My cousin says we should punish drug dealers. I say we should punish those politicians who created those drug dealers out of whole cloth by passing unprecedented laws against the use of Mother Nature's bounty.
It's already risky to engage in free and honest speech about drugs online: Colorado politicians tried to make it absolutely illegal in February 2024. The DRUG WAR IS ALL ABOUT DESTROYING DEMOCRACY THRU IGNORANT AND INTOLERANT FEARMONGERING.
It's a category error to say that scientists can tell us if psychoactive drugs "really work." It's like asking Dr. Spock of Star Trek if hugging "really works." ("Hugging is highly illogical, Captain.")
Med-dependent patients of the world, unite -- to end drug prohibition, that is. You have nothing to lose but your prescription bottles and your status as a ward of the healthcare state.
I just can't believe... [image]
It's amazing. Drug law is outlawing science -- and yet so few complain. Drug law tells us what mushrooms we can collect, for God's sake. Is that not straight-up insane? Or are Americans so used to being treated as children that they accept this corrupt status quo?
